Using data from Environment Canada, this work documents the average daily temperature for Toronto from January 1 to December 31, 2001. The 7.5′ long panel is divided into 365 vertical bars. Each bar is 1/4″ wide. The colour representing each day’s average temperature is glazed over the preceding days, so that January 1 has 365 glazes and December 31 only one. In this way, the most recent colour dominates or “colours” what has gone before.
